Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026. This page applies to mzansifarm.co.za.

1. Who operates this website

Mzansi Farming Hub is the name used for this farming-information website, available at mzansifarm.co.za. For privacy questions, contact us at techtitansassemble@gmail.com or siphesihlezanwga@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

We may receive information that you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, province and message when you use the contact form. We may also receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring page and basic visit information through hosting, security, analytics or advertising services.

Please do not send passwords, identity numbers, banking details, medical records or other sensitive information through the contact form unless we specifically request it for a lawful purpose. Farmers who ask to be verified give some of this information through the verification page instead (see section 9).

3. Why we use information

4. Contact-form information

Information submitted through the contact form is used to handle the enquiry. We do not sell contact-form information. We may disclose it to a service provider where reasonably necessary to operate the website, deliver email, prevent abuse or comply with the law.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential browser storage for site preferences and may use analytics and advertising technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the details of the technologies we use and the choices available to visitors.

6. Advertising networks and third parties

We may display advertising through third-party ad networks such as Adsterra. These networks and their advertising partners may process information about visits, devices and ad interactions to provide or measure advertising, subject to the controls and policies that apply to the visitor's location. We do not control the data practices of independent third parties.

7. Affiliate links and tracking

Some pages contain affiliate links to third-party retailers or service providers. If you follow one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer or their affiliate network may set a tracking cookie or similar technology at that point to attribute the purchase to this website; we do not receive your payment details or full purchase history from them. Pages containing affiliate links carry a visible disclosure notice. See our Cookie Policy for more on affiliate tracking cookies.

8. Commerce and payment information

When you buy a product, make a donation or purchase a sponsorship, the platform may collect your name, email address, order or sponsorship details, payment reference, provider response and transaction status. Payment card details and banking passwords are not intentionally stored by the website. Where a payment provider supports reusable saved payment methods, the site may store an encrypted provider-issued token rather than the underlying card details.

Farmers may optionally provide payout information. Sensitive payout fields are protected using application-level encryption and access is restricted to authorised administration functions. Payment proofs and review images are stored separately from ordinary public uploads.

9. Farmer verification, phone codes and location

A farmer who asks to be Verified gives us extra information so an administrator can check they are real: their phone number (confirmed with a one-time SMS code), their 13-digit South African ID number, a copy of their ID, the front of their bank card (the middle digits may be covered) and proof of account, and one location check. We use this only to verify the farmer, to prevent fraud and to keep a record of the decision.

Location. The location check is separate from the optional public location on a profile. It happens only if the farmer ticks its own consent box and presses the capture button; without consent nothing is saved. The exact coordinates are never shown publicly and are visible only to administrators who handle verification. About 90 days after the verification decision the exact coordinates are deleted, and we keep only whether the check passed and the distance from the profile location. A farmer can ask us to withdraw consent or delete their location data at the contact addresses below; the farmer may then not be able to be verified.

Other data. The ID number is stored encrypted and documents are stored in a private folder that is not publicly reachable. SMS codes are stored only as a one-way hash, are never written to the SMS log, and are deleted within about a week.

10. Videos, messages and reviews

Farmer video posts, articles, product reviews, review images and sponsor enquiries may be stored so the platform can publish, moderate, operate messaging and handle disputes. Sponsor-to-farmer enquiries may be shared with the relevant farmer because direct communication is part of that feature.

11. Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain business and security records, or where a longer period is required by law. Retention periods can differ depending on the type of information.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

13. Your rights under POPIA

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable South African law, you may have rights to request access to personal information, request correction or deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing, and ask questions about how your information is handled. You may contact us using either email address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator where applicable.

14. Children

This website is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting personal information. We ask visitors not to submit personal information belonging to another person, including a child, without the necessary authority.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, services, advertising arrangements or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
