Sellers must provide truthful titles, descriptions, prices, stock information and images. Do not claim certifications, organic status, grades, yields, health benefits or other attributes that are not accurate and supportable.
Sellers are responsible for stock, packing, lawful transport, agreed delivery or collection, customer communication and post-sale obligations. A paid order remains a seller obligation even if Mzansi Farming Hub is the payment platform.
The administrator may mark individual farmers as eligible or ineligible for payouts. Eligibility can depend on platform verification, provider requirements, completed payment details and fraud or chargeback controls.
Farmers may optionally supply payout information through the protected account area. Sensitive bank information is encrypted where stored. The platform must never receive card numbers, CVV, PINs or online-banking passwords through a seller profile.
Customer payment success does not mean immediate cash payout. Seller funds first enter a pending balance. After the platform's configured reserve period and settlement checks, eligible funds move to the available balance. Payouts are then recorded separately as requested, processing, paid, failed or cancelled.
What "payout" means here: the pending/available/reserved/paid balances and the requested/processing/paid payout statuses are the platform's internal bookkeeping of what is owed to a seller — they are not an automatic bank transfer. Moving funds from "pending" to "available", or recording a payout as "requested", never itself moves money. An administrator manually arranges the actual bank transfer or provider payout outside this system, and then records the outcome here (marking it paid, or failed if it didn't go through).
Product sales carry a locked, non-negotiable 6.00% platform fee, fixed by policy and never changed by an administrator setting. Gateway processing is a separate, farmer-side cost capped so that the combined platform and gateway charge on a product sale never exceeds 9% of the sale amount. The verification fee (section 10) is a separate, one-time charge and is not a product sale. Sponsored placements (a different, advertising-style product) carry their own administrator-configured fee, currently 100.00%. Gateway expenses, refunds and chargebacks can affect the amount available for payout. Sellers must cooperate with evidence requests where a payment is disputed.
Product reviews must reflect a genuine customer experience. Fake reviews, review manipulation, paid undisclosed endorsements and abusive content are prohibited. Review images are moderated and may be removed.
Farmers may publish approved article or video content where enabled. Videos are limited to 30 minutes. Sellers are responsible for having permission to use uploaded footage, music, photographs, trademarks and other material.
The platform may suspend listings, content, messaging or payouts if there are serious complaints, fraud indicators, payment reversals, unlawful conduct, abusive communications or repeated policy breaches.
A farmer can ask for the green Verified badge. This is optional: a farmer who is not verified can still list, and is shown with a red Unverified label. To be verified a farmer pays a one-time verification fee, currently R30.00, through Yoco, verifies their phone number with an SMS code, gives their ID number, sends an ID document, the front of their bank card and proof of account, and completes a private location check. Paying the fee does not guarantee approval; an administrator decides.
Credit, not a card refund. 50% of the fee is credited to the farmer's seller balance. It is not paid back to the card. The credit stays pending until the farmer's first completed order or 60 days after payment, whichever comes first, and then becomes available like any other balance. If the account is suspended for fraud while the credit is held, the credit can be taken back. The other 50% of the fee is not refunded or credited.
